He combined his medical skill with spiritual healing, or medicine of the soul. He spent much of his life traveling throughout Germany and other parts of Europe, conducting healing sessions and giving sermons. He died at age 72 on November 23, 1624 in the village of Königsberg (now Kaliningrad, Russia), where he was invited to serve as pastor because of his reputation as a healer. His funeral was attended by two thousand people.
